Golf Courses Near Lexington & Versailles, KY — Free Printable Map

You’re Not Near Bluegrass Golf. You’re in the Middle of It.

Most golf groups book a chain hotel in Lexington and shuttle out to the courses — then fight Nicholasville Road traffic back, every night. The Woodford Hotel sits in downtown Versailles, in the geographic center of Central Kentucky’s golf country. From our front door, twenty courses — championship layouts, classic munis, and a PGA Tour venue — aren’t an hour away. They’re minutes away, in nearly every direction. The closest is six minutes out.

That central position is the whole point. Stay here and you spend your days playing, not commuting.

Why “Central” Beats “Nearby”

A hotel that’s near one course still leaves you backtracking across the region for the rest of the weekend. From a central basecamp, you start each day in the middle of the map and loop outward — the Versailles and Keene Trace corridor one day, Lexington’s links the next, Frankfort or Georgetown after that — without burning daylight driving.

Fewer miles between rounds. Shorter trips back to a comfortable room. More time on the golf you came for.

A Simple Three-Day Loop Plan

Day 1 — Woodford County: Warm up at The Woodford Club (6 min) or Woodford Lakes (8 min), the 7,000-yard course practically next door. Evening in walkable downtown Versailles — dinner and bourbon bars on Main Street.

Day 2 — The Lexington loop: 36 holes at the University Club of Kentucky (20 min), or pair Kearney Hill Links with Griffin Gate. Finish with a bourbon flight back in Versailles.

Day 3 — The Frankfort/Lawrenceburg loop: Juniper Hill in the morning, Wild Turkey Trace after lunch — and if your group wants a distillery stop between rounds, Four Roses and Wild Turkey are minutes from the course. That’s the trip only Versailles can offer: golf in the morning, bourbon country in the afternoon.

Built for Golf Groups: Take the Whole Hotel

The Woodford Hotel’s eight bourbon-themed suites work like a private clubhouse for traveling golf groups: buy out the entire hotel and you get every suite, one shared roof, free parking out front and in our private rear lot, a coffee bar for early tee times, and downtown Versailles’ restaurants and bourbon bars a short walk from your door. No shuttle schedules, no lobby strangers, no last call at a chain bar.

We host corporate outings and retreats the same way — meetings in our private event space, golf in every direction, bourbon country for the evenings.
